Counseling & Mental Health Services
At Alondra Middle School, we believe that student well-being is the foundation for learning and success. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment where every student feels connected, valued, and prepared to thrive.
Our school provides a wide range of services and programs to address students’ mental, social, and emotional health needs. Families are encouraged to reach out and take advantage of these resources, which are designed to support both immediate needs and long-term growth.
On-Campus Supports
- School Counselors provide guidance and counseling services to support the needs of students in the areas of academics, social-emotional, and college/career readiness.
- Social Workers: Offer resources and counseling for students experiencing challenges such as homelessness, foster care, or chronic absenteeism.
- Behavior Intervention Specialists: Coordinate behavioral and psychosocial services for students receiving special education.
- School Nurses: Support student health needs and promote wellness across campus.
- Campus Safety Aides (CSAs): Ensure safe and supportive supervision before, during, and after school.
- Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs): Guide positive behavior interventions, social skills programming, and teacher training.

- Capturing Kids’ Hearts: Promotes positive school culture, strong relationships, and meaningful engagement in learning.
- Safe & Civil Schools: Provides clear routines and positive behavior practices to ensure a respectful environment.
- Assemblies & Field Trips: Designed to strengthen student connections and reinforce social-emotional learning.
- Attendance Awareness: Emphasizes the importance of daily attendance for student success and wellness.
Safety & Wellness Commitment
Alondra follows the Comprehensive School Safety Plan, which includes:
- Regular practice drills (earthquake, lockdown, evacuation)
- Anti-bullying and harassment prevention policies
- Annual mandated staff trainings (suicide awareness, child abuse reporting, diversity, and more)
- Close collaboration with PUSD Safety & Security, local first responders, and families

- Review community resources and upcoming parent workshops that focus on student wellness.
