Interventions

At Alondra Middle School, we believe every student deserves the right support to succeed. Some students need extra help with academics, while others may benefit from guidance in building positive behaviors or social-emotional skills. Our intervention programs are designed to provide timely, targeted support in partnership with families.

How Students Are Referred

  • Students may be referred for intervention by:
  • Teachers, who monitor classroom performance and identify learning or behavior concerns.
  • Parents/Guardians, who can request support if they see their child struggling.
  • School Counselors or Administrators, who review attendance, behavior, and assessment data.

Referrals are reviewed by our Intervention Team to determine the best plan of support.

Intervention Supports We Provide

  • Academic Support: Dedicated ELA and Math Intervention Teachers provide small-group instruction and targeted lessons.
  • Counseling & SEL: Our School Counselors and Social Workers meet with students to support social-emotional needs, attendance, and behavior goals.
  • Instructional Assistants: Provide in-class support, small group practice, and help English learners and newcomers.
  • Tiered Supports Meetings: Teams meet regularly to review student strengths, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed.

Schedules & Timelines

  • Intervention sessions are built into the school day or provided after school depending on student needs.
  • Students may join short-term small group sessions or receive ongoing support throughout the semester.

Progress is monitored regularly through classroom performance, i-Ready data, and teacher check-ins.
